Figurative Paintings
The paintings are all based upon my own thoughts and observations.
As a printmaker my normal working methods involve producing many preliminary drawings, before commencing the 'plate-making' process. This time I have taken the drawings further and introduced coloured washes. I am very pleased with the results especially the loose and spontaneous feel, something I try to achieve with many of my etchings.

17.0 x 14.5 cm, original watercolour and pencil sketch by Carl March.
Attracted to the composition of the figure in her bedroom. The pink hat was a left-over from a recent fancy dress party some weeks earlier. Loose contour lines help capture the model's repeated movements, especially pleased with the finished work.
