While working in Milan I produced many etchings, nearly all landscape and mostly park scenes from around the area where I was living. I continued to produce these and other landscapes after I had returned to the UK and set up my own etching workshop.
Many of these earlier works proved very popular with individuals and original print publishers. Several complete editions were purchased and distributed by Christies Contemporary Art, this also included examples being displayed in Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions. Many of these images were reproduced as greeting cards by Ling Stationery, the editions are now sold out with the original plates destroyed.
I am particularly pleased with these remaining examples of earlier works. The composition and balance of the images still attracts my eye, reminding me of my days travelling in Italy.
Artwork is presented against dark backgrounds to show deckle edge of the papers.
