Figurative Paintings
The paintings are all based upon my own thoughts and observations.
As a printmaker my normal working methods involve producing many preliminary drawings, before commencing the 'plate-making' process. This time I have taken the drawings further and introduced coloured washes. I am very pleased with the results especially the loose and spontaneous feel, something I try to achieve with many of my etchings.

'Sitting on the bed drying her hair'
16.0 x 14.0 cm, original watercolour and pencil sketch by Carl March.
Attracted the composition showing a figure sitting on her bed drying her hair. Subtle 'wet on wet' colours and loose pencil lines help to capture the model's movements.
